Bedfordshire’s High Sheriff finds out about scouting today by visiting his old troop.
This week Blenheim scouts were joined by High Sheriff Bav Shah for the evening. The scouts made pancakes both full sized and mini ones cooked on tin cans over tea lights, the High Sheriff joined in by helping with the cooking.
Bav talked about his role as High Sheriff, he is the Kings representative for law and order in the county and he serves for a year.
The Scouts wanted to know about his sword and whether he had ever used it.
He also told the scouts that when High Court judges come to the county he has to escort them, a judge cannot start a hearing until he is present as he is considered higher than a judge.
Two scouts were invested at the end of the meeting before flag down.
Bav Shah commented that the two scouts made differently worded promises and how in his time as a scout everybody had to make the same promise and he didn't realise that scouts could now choose which promise they made.
Everybody had a fun time.
